Mr. Cousteau came in contact with many people and animals. From rarely seen species to famous musician John Denver, who even wrote a song about the Captain and his faithful crew and boat. Specifically, he came in contact with many people from the French military, and various other militaries as well. He had meetings with people from the UN, and specifically those in charge of conservation. He also sat in on many fisherman's committees all over the world, regarding safe fishing, and conserving species. In the video below, he starts off his documentary about the destroyed ship, The Brittanic, talking to the survivors about the shipwreck over dinner; before starting his expedition. He even was known for meeting with Fidel Castro; and getting along with him so well, that he allowed Jacques to free 80 political prisoners!
